Assignment 1 Evaluation,

1. Prior to this activity I had very little knowledge about the topic. I always would see videos, but until this first activity I never really knew what it took to capture the geospatial analysis part of this activity. 

2. Following this activity, I would rate my knowledge about it as I could repeat what we conducted in the field. The only portion I would have a problem with would be being able to upload the file on the camera and having it take pictures to what timing I would want. I feel that this will come in time with more hands on experience. 

3. I cannot stress enough about the hands on experience for conducting an activity like this. I feel everyone gained knowledge by being able to go hands on. 

Assignment Field Activity #3

1. Since the start of this class I had very little knowledge about the topic, Since we are into our fourth week of field activities I have been gaining knowledge about this topic every week. It is becoming easier to set up mission plans and conducting missions.

2. Following this activity I have grown more comfortable with mission planning and conducting missions. It is getting easier to carry out missions.

3. The hands on approach again has allowed for me to understand what the purpose is of the field activities.

Assignment Field Activity #4

1. Prior to this field activity I had little knowledge of the proper collection of GCP's. Although I have had other classes that dealt with talking about GCP's, I never had a field activity that actually showed us how to properly place and collect them. 

2. After completion of this activity I feel that my knowledge of the collection of GCP's has grown. With the hands on experience and proper instruction it is relatively easy to learn where to place them along with the proper way to collect them. 

3. The hands on approach helped tremendously with learning how to properly collect GCP's in the field. I believe the hands on approach to this entire class is vital with learning in this class. 

Assignment Field Activity #5

1. We are now on our fifth field activity and feel as though I have decent knowledge about this topic. I have had other classes talking about oblique imagery, just never have been able to conduct it in the field. I know feel comfortable around the different platforms that we use while flying along with the different terms that are thrown at us in class.

2. After the completion of this activity I feel that my knowledge has continued to grow when talking about oblique imagery. This field activity has allowed me to see how a different camera angle can be used to make a 3D model of an study area. 

3. Once again its all about the hands on experience. You can only talk about doing something so much, but until you get into the field and see how it is actually done you will never know truly what you are doing. 

Assignment Lab #6

1. This is the first time that we have used the GEMS software in week 6 lab. Although we are using Nadir imagery for this lab, I had very little knowledge about how the GEMs software worked or what I would be able to do with it. 

2. Upon completing lab 6 and using the GEMs software, I feel that my knowledge about the software and different types of imagery has grown. We used NDVI imagery for some of the maps that we created allowing us to see the health of the grass surrounding the pavilion. 

3. I feel that allowing us to process our flight data information on the GEMs software allowed me to grasp the information and what I can do with the GEMs software. It is important to learn how to process our flight data and images. 

Assignment Lab #10

1. In this lab it was the first time that we got to use Pix4D software to process or data and construct a point cloud and true orthomosaic. Since this was the first time that we have used Pix4D I had little knowledge about what the software could do. 

2. After completing this lab I feel that my knowledge has grown a lot about what Pix4D can do. I am interested to see what else Pix4D can do as we continue with our labs. 

3. Again its all about the hands on approach and learning how to process the data. 

Assignment Lab #11

1. In this lab we processed the data from our GCP flight. I feel that I have decent knowledge about GCP's since I have learned about them in other classes, but never learned how to process the information while using them. We used Pix4D in this lab again and I was amazed with the clarity of our images of the GCP's. 

2. After completing this lab on processing GCP's I learned how to properly process the images of GCP's. Although my understanding of what GCP's do has remained the same it is all about learning how to process them in Pix4D. 

3. Learning how to process this data on GCP's in Pix4D is all about the hands on approach. Although we worked with a partner in this lab, the hands on approach and cutting us loose to learn how to process the information was vital. 

Assignment Lab #12

1. Prior to this lab activity on volumetrics, I had little knowledge about processing the data in Pix4D. Although this is the third lab now that we used Pix4D, we have done very little with getting volumetrics. 

2. After completing this lab my understanding about volumetrics in Pix4d has grown. Learning the proper way to calculate volumetrics has also grown.

3. The hands on approach to all the labs is important. It's the only way to learn how to process this data I believe.
