Flight Log
Flight logs are very important to keep track of. They tell me the date, time, conditions, and all the essentials about the aircraft that I am flying and how it reacted during the flight. Since this is the first time that I have created a flight log on my own, it is very simple and only has the important information about my flight. These flight logs are over the course of one semester at UWEC were we had the opportunity to collect this information from flight times on a computer simulation. Since we are on a computer simulation it is much easier to get this information from a few clicks of a button. In the field when we are flying on our own it is very important to transfer this information into a flight log as well. This will take time before and after every flight to find the information about the batteries/ fuel that is being used in flight along with the wind conditions. Another important factor in my flight logs is the notes portion. Although I don't have any in the flight logs from the simulator, it is important when actually flying in the field. The notes portion can tell me what direction the wind is coming from, the weather conditions, or even how the plane is flying if it tends to fly easier a certain way. It is always important to continually make changes to the flight logs as I continue to fly more.
Figure 1 is my first flight log that I created. Its basically the essentials that I have gotten from the flight simulator during a few weeks of flight simulation. The most important information on this flight log would be the battery start and remaining or the fuel start and remaining. If this was a real flight in the field, it would be important to know how much battery or fuel is remaining, because I wouldn't want to be in mid flight and lose power to the UAS.
Figure 2 is my second flight log. Again the most important information is about the battery and fuel on this log. Although we haven't started flying in the wind yet, this will come into play in my final log. At this point in the semester we have started to experiment with different aircrafts and airports. It is important after being comfortable with one aircraft to broaden the horizons of the types of aircrafts that I can fly. Some aircrafts are three channels which make flying much easier, so it is fun and important to learn to fly with four channel aircrafts along with the multi rotors.

Figure 3 is the final flight log from throughout the semester. Like i stated earlier, as the semester carried on I was able to experiment with flying different types of aircrafts. Personally, I believe that this helped me when flying in the field. Although I am flying a three channel airplane in the field, the experience of learning how to fly different channel planes along with multi rotors allowed me to fly more confidently. A flight simulator I believe is the best tool when learning how to fly in the field.
